Emergency Shelter for Families

Welcome House provides emergency shelter for up to 90 days for families with children at
the on-site shelter facility.

Computer and Life-Skills Education

Welcome House’s newest service is an exciting collaboration with community leaders
who will motivate/inspire clients by providing training sessions. Classes in areas such as:
basic computer skills, resume writing and interviewing, budgeting, making healthy meals
on a budget, parenting, basic health/safety and more will boost employment skills and
benefit families long after their shelter stay.

Homeless Prevention / Rapid Re-Housing

Welcome House is an access point where homeless individuals or families and those at
risk of becoming homeless can call and receive information, referrals and/or direct
assistance, depending on eligibility. Welcome House administers funds through
ESG and NDHG to provide deposit and rent assistance to people experiencing homelessness
so they can be quickly re-housed. Other forms of financial assistance are referred to
partner agencies and all funds are limited; client eligibility for financial assistance
depends upon grantor’s requirements.

Bible Study

Welcome house invites individuals associated with local faith based communities or organizations to lead small group bible studies or prayer groups for the families using our shelter. Individuals leading these studies must adhere to the Welcome House Statement of Faith. All individuals seeking to lead these studies must pass a background check (required of all volunteers) and are subject to final approval by the executive director.
